The Bible was written within an ancient Near Eastern culture that thought about the world very differently than we do today. Yet most of us read it in modern English, through Western assumptions, theological traditions, and abstract categories that were foreign to its authors.
I am a researcher, author, and translator specializing in the language and culture of the Bible. For over 30 years, I have studied the Bible from within its original ancient Near Eastern context and authored multiple books including my best-selling Lexicon and Translation.
